1. Do your certified pre-owned scanners have a monthly fee?
One of the major considerations when purchasing an intraoral scanner is if the system will require a registration and subscription fee.
In an effort to reduce costs for our customers, (and in addition to the savings you get through buying certified pre-owned) we’ve focused on providing systems that don’t require a monthly subscription. The iTero Element FlexTM Foundation certified pre-owned intraoral scanner includes three years of monthly access, with no additional fees.
Other intraoral scanners we offer, such as Medit and Carestream I/OS models, also include access to their Medit Link and CS software so you don’t need to worry about additional access fees.
2. What is included with the purchase of an intraoral scanner?
When you purchase a certified pre-owned intraoral scanner from Renew Digital, you get much more than just the scanner.
In addition to the scanner wand, we include two disposable sleeves or autoclavable tips with every purchase (depending on your model).
Each purchase of an IOS also comes with a 3D optimized laptop from Renew Digital. Some IOS models in the marketplace today use a cart style design, though many professionals we speak with prefer operating their scanner with a laptop for greater portability. The laptop configuration offers easy, comfortable chair-side viewing of your digital impressions alongside your patient.
Every IOS model we sell also includes the manufacturer’s latest software release, so you’ll get access to the most up to date scanning and design features.
3. How do you handle support and training?
For purchases of iTero products, after we’ve completed the purchase order, you will be contacted by one of the dedicated iTero Support and Integration teams.
Certified pre-owned iTero scanners are supported just like new ones, with a dedicated team of service and support staff that practices can access. This covers 100% of the repair or replacement of defective parts at no additional cost to you during the service term.
You can also learn via self-paced, interactive courses, videos, and other customized instructional support materials.
For Medit, Carestream, and other models, once you’ve received your equipment, Renew Digital offers remote training and support to ensure that you and your staff are equipped to start scanning as quickly as possible.
4. What warranties do you offer? What is included under warranty coverage?
For iTero products, your iTero purchase comes with a three-year comprehensive warranty that is handled directly through iTero. It covers 100% of the cost of repair or replacement of defective parts during the service term. You can also reach out to us or to iTero for additional information about their warranty coverage.
For Medit, Carestream, and other models of intraoral scanners, your purchase comes with one year of warranty coverage which covers both the scanner and the laptop. Contact us for more details on the warranty coverage we offer for our other IOS models.
5. Can I still use an iTero scanner if I’m not an orthodontist, or if I don’t work with InvisalignⓇ?
Yes! With the iTero Element Flex Foundation certified pre-owned intraoral scanner, you will receive three years of access to the award-winning iTero Restorative Platform. In fact, iTero scanners have powered over ten million restorative procedures.
The Restorative Platform is a chairside CAD software engineered to provide dental professionals with the ability to design and produce precision-fit restorative treatment options. From crowns and bridges to edentulous cases, iTero intraoral scanners are designed to boost your efficiency so you can get more out of your chair time.
6. How quickly can I start scanning after purchase?
Either the iTero Support and Integration Team or one of Renew Digital’s Project Managers will work with you to ensure that you can get started scanning as soon as possible. We’ll even include quick-start guides to help you unpack and set up your scanner more quickly and efficiently.
Your purchase of an iTero intraoral scanner also includes a pre-configured Windows 10 3D-optimized laptop which offers true plug-and-play operation so you can start using your new scanner as quickly as possible.
