## SCARA Technology Offers Unlimited Range of Movement

Combining the computation of dynamic rotation patterns and electro-mechanical construction, Planmeca ProMax X-ray systems with SCARA technology move along with your patient’s anatomical structures during rotation to capture previously hidden anomalies to obtain optimal images for each unique patient each and every time. ## Flexible Options for Precise Imaging
Planmeca ProMax X-ray systems offer numerous imaging programs and options thanks to the built-in SCARA technology. This feature allows the SCARA-enabled equipment to offer a greater variety of imaging options than X-ray equipment that comes equipped with fixed rotations. Because of the free-flowing movements of the Planmeca ProMax, each machine can produce a wider range of higher quality two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) images. Such images include X-rays for diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) as well as extraoral bitewings.
## SCARA2 and SCARA3 Models
Planmeca offers two distinct versions of SCARA technology in their X-ray equipment. SCARA2 systems, such as Planmeca ProMax S2 units, come equipped with two joints and are most appropriate for dentists who need to obtain basic panoramic images. SCARA3, implemented in Planmeca ProMax series units, incorporates three joints to provide dentists with a broader range of motion when obtaining images. An additional benefit of SCARA3 systems is that they can easily produce any pattern required by current or future dental X-ray exposure programs.
