## Dedicated Panoramic Technology
With a Planmeca Promax 3D dental cone beam system, you still get an advanced and versatile 2D panoramic imaging experience thanks to flexible patient positioning, creative innovations, and high-quality images. The patented SCARA technology means you’ll always capture anatomically accurate imaging geometry so your images are clear and error-free. Easily reduce patient radiation exposure with the Dynamic Exposure Control (DEC) option. This feature measures the patient’s radiation transparency and then automatically adjusts the exposure to minimize the effective dose for any type of diagnostic imaging you need.
## Advanced CBCT Technology
In addition to superior 2D imaging, the Planmeca ProMax 3D also offers Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), allowing you to view a patient’s entire dental anatomy in three dimensions. The scanner will rotate around the patient’s head and capture 600 different slices which are then pieced together to create a 3D model. This allows you to offer more accurate diagnoses and better treatment planning, especially when compared to traditional 2D X-rays. No more guesswork or trying to interpret two dimensional images!
## Patient Safety
Planmeca, as a company, is known for its ongoing commitment to following the ALARA principle of “As Low As Reasonably Achievable” in regards to radiation exposure. With the Planmeca ProMax 3D imaging system, you can collimate your images to as small as 5 x 5 cm or as large as 8 x 8 cm so you can focus on just the area you need to, without exposing your patient or your staff to unnecessary radiation levels.
## Extreme Versatility
As your practice expands, so does your X-ray machine. The Planmeca ProMax 3D comes equipped with 2D panoramic and 3D CBCT imaging, but can be easily upgraded to cephalometric imaging through the manufacturer. You can also easily add additional features such as bitewings, too.
## Patient Applications
Although there are many ways to use the Planmeca ProMax 3D imaging system, it is currently most commonly used for dental implant planning, periodontics, TMJ analysis, endodontics, and oral surgery planning.
Diagnosing dental conditions and planning surgical procedures is made easier with the 3D imaging capabilities of the Planmeca ProMax 3D. The included Romexis software allows you to develop treatment plans for dental implants, identify potential problems, and assess bone structure and soft tissues.

The Planmeca ProMax 3D includes the Romexis software which allows you to capture, view, and process all your data in one place. This includes 2D images, 3D images, and CAD/CAM cases.
