# Planning Implants with Planmeca ProMax 3D Classic & Romexis 3D Software

## Clinical Application
Without a CBCT system in your practice, you’ll likely be referring your patients out to another provider to capture 3D images, or you’ll have to rely on 2D scans for placing implants. When outsourcing dental cone beam imaging, your patients could be overcharged for the scan, and you risk the chance that they won’t return to your practice for treatment. Plus, you can’t always trust referrals to uphold the standard of care you provide to your patients.

For example, you can select the 8 x 5 cm FOV for single jaw applications, ideal for creating surgical guides. Or you can choose the high-definition 4 x 5 cm scan to support endodontics, third molar exams and single tooth applications. The impressive 75 μm resolution in this high-definition scan means you’ll capture even the finest anatomical details. The ability to target only the areas of interest helps you provide safer, more efficient patient examinations.
## Built-In Panoramic
For routine implants or applications not requiring a 3D evaluation, the Planmeca ProMax 3D Classic includes dedicated panoramic imaging. This enables you to capture standard 2D panoramic and advanced panoramic images, including extraoral bitewings (subject to availability). Built-in dedicated 2D panoramic X-ray functionality provides the imaging flexibility and versatility you need to treat your dental patients safely and efficiently.
