Dental CBCT Training: Elevating Precision and Patient Care
Calling all new dental CBCT owners! So, you've just made the leap to 3D imaging, now what? CBCT has revolutionized the dental industry, providing three-dimensional imaging capabilities that enhance diagnostic precision and treatment planning. Now, how will this advanced technology impact your practice?
After considerable research and planning, you now have a new piece of technology that has the potential to impact the bottom line for your practice. You and your staff are very likely excited to get started!
But first.. you need to get everyone who may be readily taking, managing and reading 3D scans ready for this next evolution in your practice. And this new integration may seem daunting, you already have a workflow for you and your staff - and patients to see!
Here at Renew Digital, we’ve worked with thousands of doctors just like you to help them get started with their new CBCT system. We want to help maximize your investment, both clinically and from a financial perspective.
Based on the years of feedback we’ve received from doctors, here’s some recommendations on what to look for when seeking training on dental CBCT.
#1 Dealer Training (Post-Installation)
If you purchased your CBCT system from a dealer, many will offer on-site training after installation by a certified technician (though you should confirm this is part of your purchase). A reputable dealer (check their online reviews, seek references) wants to get you and your team up to snuff on the equipment as well as the software, so you can get to taking 3D scans.
If you purchased from Renew Digital, every CBCT machine we sell comes with on-site training. This training is available for a reason, so be present for the training. Do not schedule patients during this time; we’ll ask for 2 hours of uninterrupted time to be fully devoted to your ROI-generating investment.
Then, after our certified technician conducts your training, we recommend getting started scanning patients right away - even as soon as the next Monday morning.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Certification may be required by regulatory authorities or professional organizations to ensure competence and patient safety. Again, your dealer should have covered this with you during the installation process, but double confirm you have the correct certification and this is reviewed and reviewed regularly.

Universities with dental radiology departments are particularly likely to offer specialized courses in CBCT.
#4 Online Courses/CE

#6 Peer-to-Peer Training
If you're part of a larger dental community or network, you might find opportunities for peer-led training sessions. Some experienced practitioners, familiar with CBCT, may be willing to share their knowledge and expertise.
